Interview with a Heat Helper

When a joy ride in a heat limo shatters the peace of a small town, beta reporter Karen Hillcrest sets out to destroy the career of the limo’s owner—Foster Camden, a well-respected heat helper to the elite packs in Port Haven.

During the interview, Foster recounts his experiences: an omega’s first heat; an older alpha concerned about satisfying his young scent match; a pack grappling with their omega’s chronic illness; and a single omega who tries to go it alone.

Karen learns some surprising facts about heat, but it might not be enough to derail her plans.

Foster, the heat helper, is, well, a sex worker. This novella depicts his engagements with clients. Most of the on-page sex is MF; however, there are group scenes where the men involved do interact, but there is no “sword crossing.”

Content Warnings

Foster is a sex worker. There are frank discussions about sex work. He has consensual sex with individuals, couples, and packs with whom he is not in a relationship. There is no cheating. There are age gaps between participants, but they are not really discussed. One character, Petal, is diabetic, and her scene deals with the emotional impact of chronic illness in a relationship and getting proper medical care for the first time. Some of the more unpleasant sides of heat are explored. This novella is more smut than plot.
